Barada Company’s sales hit SYP3 billion during the first half of 2022

DAMASCUS, Aug.9, (ST)- During the first half of this year, the sales of the General Company for Metallurgical Industries, Barada,  reached about 3 billion Syrian pounds, and completed its plan for the year 2022 within six months for producing 20 items of different sizes.

Director-General of the company, Ali Abbas, told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA): “The company implemented, during 6 months, the entire plan for the year 2022 to assemble semi-automatic and automatic 8 kg washing machines, amounting to 1,000 washing machines, which are witnessing great demand. …We are currently working on adding a quarter of the quantity to be implemented during the remaining period of the year.”

He indicated that the company is going ahead with producing refrigerators of various sizes, five- and four-head gas ovens, ovens, heaters, and electric fans that operate on gas with an electronic panel, in addition to water coolers, clarifying that the company produced 200 coolers in 6 months.

Abbas revealed that the company currently has a plan to produce mixers, laser cookers, fans that operate on electricity and the battery, and the freezer, indicating that the company’s sales of all products during the first six months of this year reached about 3 billion Syrian pounds.

He added that the products are being sold in cash or in installments.

Regarding the situation of the machines in the company’s factory, Abbas said that the millingron machine was completed and put into service by national expertise. “ It is used for plastic injection and produces a mold every 30 seconds, in addition to the CNC machine and the two spark and wire cutting machines that are ready for investment by all parties.” He clarified.

As for the company’s investment plan, Abbas said that a contract was signed to rehabilitate and maintain a 150-ton press, at a value of 89 million Syrian pounds, to re-manufacture metal pots despite the labor shortage as the number of workers is currently only 107, while their number was 1,000 before the war.

He concluded by saying that the company is seeking to return to the company’s main headquarters in Sbeneh Al-Soghra area in Damascus countryside- which was destroyed by terrorism- after completing its rehabilitation work.
