Nasrallah affirms the need to speak out to lift the unfair sanctions imposed on Syria

Hizbollah Secretary General Hasan Nasrallah has stressed that Syria has overcome the foreign-backed global war waged against it, but it continues to suffer from sanctions, affirming the need to speak out to lift the unfair blockade imposed on the country.

In a statement on Tuesday marking “Ashura Day” Nasrallah said that the United States and its allies have imposed sanctions on Syria, Yemen and Gaza Strip in a bid to subjugate the peoples, particularly after the failure of wars in achieving this goal.

He pointed out that resistance is the only way to restore the usurped land and sanctities and to guarantee the return of the Palestinian refugees in diaspora to their original land from which they were displaced by the Israeli occupation.

He reiterated that Palestine will continue to be the Arabs’ central cause, stressing continuous support for the Palestinian people.

Nasrallah asserted that Lebanon will not allow any party to steal its resources and national wealth, pointing out that the Lebanese people have faced wars, assassinations and blockades for 40 years and they will continue to look forward to achieving a promising future.

“We look forward to a free and powerful Lebanon that is capable to defend its dignity and to invest its wealth. We look forward to Lebanon which is capable of cutting off any hand that would extend to its wealth,” Nasrallah clarified.

He affirmed that Hezbollah has reached “the end of the line” regarding the issue of gas and maritime border and its is waiting for new developments in this regard, reiterating that the Lebanese resistance is fully ready to confront all options, in response to Israeli threats and in a clear message that Hezbollah is prepared for war.

He called on all Lebanese parties to joint efforts to form a government with full power that can assume its responsibilities, especially in light of some parties’ threats of presidential vacuum.
