Turkish occupation’s attacks delay the pumping of water to hundreds of thousands of residents in Hasakah

The suffering of hundreds of thousands of al-Hasakah residents in securing drinking water was repeated once again as a result of the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the water supply lines and the electricity network feeding the Allouk station in Ras al-Ain.

These attacks caused the suspension of pumping operations from the Allouk station and the delay in filling the main tanks at the al-Hama station feeding the city of Hasakah.

The Director General of Water Company in the governorate of Hasakah , Mahmoud Al-Akla, stated that the violations of the Turkish occupier and its terrorist mercenaries are behind the delay in pumping operations towards the city’s neighborhoods, as filling the main reservoirs in Al-Hamma takes more than two days.

Al-Akla added that the need for one pumping operation per day is about 60,000 cubic meters and today the quantity does not reach half, which affects the access of water to all homes during the pumping period.

Al-Akla indicated that the Company is in the process of forming a working group to address all pumping problems, especially the city center, and to address the lack of water during the pumping period to the homes.

The water was transported by tanks and filling the tanks spread in the city, which was set up by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch with the support of a number of international organizations.

During the past years, the Turkish occupier caused a suffocating water crisis in the city of Hasakah, which sometimes lasted for tens of days, as a result of its attack on the main pumping stations.
