Amman, (ST) – On Sunday, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Israeli violations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Ministry also condemned the extremist settlers’ storming into the mosque and violating its sanctity. It also warned of the consequences of the continuation of these violations calling for their immediate halt.
The Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted the ministry’s spokesperson, Haitham Abu Al-Ful, as saying today that “the storming into of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the provocative practices against it are a condemned and unacceptable aggression and a flagrant violation of international law and the historical and legal situation in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and its sanctities.” He stressed that the violations and continued attacks on holy sites represent a dangerous and absurd act and pushes the situation into a continuous cycle of violence.
Abu Al-Ful stressed the need to stop all measures aimed at changing the existing historical and legal situation.
Hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed into the Al-Aqsa Mosque earlier today, under the protection of the occupation forces, which were deployed in the Old City of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the roads leading to the mosque and set up several barriers to obstruct Palestinian to reach to it.
