Syria demands accountability for the Israeli crimes against Palestinians

DAMASCUS, Aug.6, (ST)- Syria has affirmed the continuity of its support for Palestinian people, blaming the Israeli occupation entity for the escalation in the Gaza Strip and demanding accountability for Israeli officials who have used to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity.

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Saturday: “The continuation of the Israeli aggressive and terrorist criminal acts against innocent civilians in occupied Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip, proves once again that “Israel” is a brutal racist occupation entity that does not stop committing crimes and practicing Terrorism against the Palestinians, who own the land and have the right to exist and live in security, peace and dignity.:

The source added that Syria asserts the continuity of its support to the Palestinian brothers, who defend their right to life and freedom, and calls on all Palestinians to unite and make decisions at the national level and before the international community with the aim of confronting these Israeli attacks, and mobilize efforts and support to put an end to the decades-long Israeli occupation and establish the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, in addition to reach a just solution that guarantees the Palestinians’ right to return to their homeland.

It underlined the international community’s ignorance of  the blood of the Palestinians, children, women and the elderly, clearly reflects its complicity with the aggression and disregard for all the values of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

The source also said that the attempts of some Western countries to secure cover for the practices of occupation, aggression, settlement, killing and destruction proves once again the need for binding moral rules to force the  Israeli occupation to stop its aggression and respond to the basic requirements of the Palestinian people.

“Syria’s leadership, government and people extends their deepest and most sincere condolences to the Palestinian people and the families of the martyrs who died for the sake of the Palestinian cause and who were martyred as a result of this continuous Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, “ the source added,.

The Israeli occupation has launched an aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip since yesterday, bombing several residential areas with aircraft and tanks, which led to the martyrdom of 13 Palestinians, including a girl, and the injury of 114 others, in addition to severe damage to infrastructure and damage to Palestinian homes and properties.
