United Nations: The Government of China is the sole representative of China

New York (ST): The United Nations has confirmed that the government of the People’s Republic of China is the “sole legitimate representative of China”.

“The United Nations is committed to United Nations General Assembly Resolution No. (2758) on China, which was issued in 1971 and provides for the recognition of the Government of the People’s Republic of China as the sole legitimate representative of China in the United Nations is a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

China has strongly condemned the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan, stressing that it constitutes a serious violation of the one-China principle and undermines peace and stability in the region.
