In recognition of the heroic deeds of the Syrian Arab Army in the battle against terrorism and marking the army’s 77th Foundation Anniversary, a wounded soldier of the Syrian army swam a distance of 20 km from the shore of the coastal city of Jableh to the southern corniche in Lattakia.

The wounded swimmer Azzam Daher completed the 20 km swimming initiative in 8 hours and 45 minutes.

Daher told SANA that he used to swim for long distances since he was 15 years old and that he made the initiative on the occasion of the Army Day and in appreciation of the heroism of the army in the fight against terrorism.
