Zakharova: Pelosi’s trip to Asia is a dangerous military and political adventure
On July 31st, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s scheduled tour of a number of Asian countries as a “dangerous military and political adventure.”
“I would describe Pelosi’s trips as a dangerous military and political adventure, and on the other hand they are trips between dream and reality,” Zakharova wrote on Telegram, referring to the possibility of Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, despite China’s warnings.
“Everything that happens in American politics is inappropriate and surreal,” Zakharova added.
Yesterday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian stressed that there will be resolute countermeasures against the United States if it defies China’s red line, and that the US side should bear all the consequences arising from the possible visit of the US House Speaker to Taiwan.
