Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority has warned of the deteriorating health condition of the prisoner Khalil Awawda, who is continuing his hunger strike for the 29th day in the Israeli occupation prisons.
Wafa News Agency quoted the spokesman of the Commission, Hassan Abed Rabbo, as saying that the 40-year-old prisoner, Awawda, continues his second strike for the 29th day, after he was suspended on the 21st of last June, after 111 days of the strike, after the occupation authorities pledged to release him, but they reneged on their pledges. Despite Awawda’s suffering of Head and joint pain, dizziness, emaciation, irregular heartbeat and breathing, in addition to difficulty moving, occupation authorities reneged on their pledges to release him.
The prisoner, Raed Rayan, 27, suspended his open hunger strike the day before yesterday, after it continued for 113 days, after the occupation authorities pledged to release him. He recorded a new victory with his will and determination, despite the systematic abuse carried out by the occupation forces against him and despite the difficult and dangerous health conditions he had reached in Ramle prison.
The 40-year-old prisoner Khalil Awawda, who is from the town of Idna in the city of Hebron in the West Bank, has been detained since the 27th of last December. He had previously been arrested five times, during which he spent 12 years inside the prison. He was subjected to physical and psychological torture, which caused him multiple health problems, especially in the senses of sight and hearing.
