Syrian Arab News Agency takes part in “Discover Shandong” tourist and cultural event in China

The Chinese government has recently invited international media outlets, including the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) to participate in a cultural and tourist event called “Discover Shandong”.

The event came within the framework of the Chinese government’s media plan to disseminate China’s culture around the world.

The opening ceremony of the event was held at Jining Museum in Shandong Province in the presence of a number of Chinese officials and journalists.

The three-day event provided a new platform for enhancing international contact aiming to allow the invited foreign media outlets to get acquainted with the history and culture of Jining city and to convey the image of this city to the world as one of the most important cultural centers.

The first day of the event included a visit by tourist groups, comprising journalists, experts and influential people from all over the world, to the architecturally-distinguished Jining Museum and to the Museum of the Five Dynasties.

The second day included a visit to the birthplace of Confucius and an exhibition for Chinese cultural heritage.

The third day concluded by a visit to Confucius family palace and Confucius school where students received philosophical and ethical teachings.
