Expatriates Forum discusses the establishment of development projects in Aleppo

Aleppo (ST): The participants in the Expatriates Forum, which was held in the Khan al-Harir market in the old city of Aleppo, focused on the need to build bridges of communication with the people of the homeland in the diaspora, urge the young generation to return to the homeland, establish development and investment projects, activate flights and airlines to Aleppo International Airport, and provide the necessary facilities for industrial areas.

The Minister of State for Southern Region Development, Dr. Diala Barakat, explained the importance of holding the forum in Aleppo to highlight the role of expatriates who maintained bridges of communication with their homeland, Syria, and all that they offered to their families and cities, as well as conveying the culture and civilization of their country that enriched the societies they arrived in.

She pointed to the expatriates’ contribution to breaking the unjust political and economic siege on Syria within a systematic and effective work whose positive results were reflected on the ground through the reconstruction of what was destroyed, with the cooperation of all government institutions, stressing that Aleppo with its economy and the return of its production movement will remain a destination for every expatriate forced by circumstances to move away from his homeland.

The Governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab, stated that the governorate of Aleppo, which has been subjected to the harshest conditions of siege and destruction, is returning today to rise again and regain its historical, economic and cultural role and position, and that this forum constitutes an important opportunity through direct meeting with expatriates to discuss together all common service, economic and cultural issues and contribute to setting a better vision and take appropriate measures to strengthen their connection to their homeland, Syria.
