Baghdad (ST): Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein announced today that his country is working to obtain a resolution from the Security Council to help it expel Turkish forces from Iraq.
Hussein said in an interview with Al-Iraqiya News Channel: We are working to persuade the members of the Security Council to issue a resolution to expel Turkish forces from Iraqi territory during today’s emergency session, pointing out that there are more than 4,000 Turkish personnel and 100 military points in Iraqi territory.
He stressed that there is no agreement that allows the presence of Turkish forces in Iraqi territory, considering that Iraq has two problems represented by the presence of Turkish forces in its territory and elements of the Kurdistan Workers Party, and it is not acceptable to export Turkish problems and solve them in Iraqi territory.
