The “Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed” field hospital opened in Damascus countryside

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, Jul.25, (ST)-Today, the Ministry of Health inaugurated the “Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed” field hospital near the Conference Palace in the countryside of Damascus, with a capacity of 135 beds, including 40 care beds.

In a statement to reporters, the Minister of Health Hassan Al-Ghabbash clarified that choosing the location of the hospital and opening it came under the directives of President Bashar al-Assad to cover the Ghouta region and wide geographical areas in Damascus countryside, which include about one million people.

The minister indicated that the opening of the hospital came with the support of the Emirates Red Crescent, within the context of the humanitarian response to the Covid 19 pandemic and its effects, which is evidence of the strong historical brotherly relations between the two leaderships and peoples in the two countries.

He concluded by saying that the hospital includes all the necessary medical equipment, such as x-ray devices, axial tomography, and competitors to provide the appropriate medical service, in addition to a number of other departments, such as a laboratory with all its equipment and an intensive care department.
