12 Countries to take part in the meeting of The General Union Of Arab Writers In Damascus

Damascus, (ST) – The Permanent Office of the General Union of Arab Writers and Authors is to hold its meeting tomorrow at Al-Assad National Library in Damascus, under the title “Writers for Arabism”.

12 Arab countries confirm their participation in the General Union of Arab Writers’ meeting , which will last for two days.

The Head of the Arab Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, said in a statement to Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the participating delegations include researchers and poets representing Arab literary unions and Arab literary associations who will present their intellectual and creative products on Arab culture. There is also a poetry festival.

Al-Hourani stressed the importance of holding this meeting, which hosts a group of Arab poets and writers. He said that it comes within the context of keenness to develop cultural, creative and literary relations with various Arab countries.

“This meeting refers to the role of writers and creators in protecting their countries from the conspiracies that they are exposed to”, Al-Hourani added.
