SWEIDA, Jul.24, (ST)- Sweida Journalists staged a stand on Sunday demanding the release of Syrian al-Ekhbariya Channel’s reporter Mohammad al-Saghir , who has been kidnapped by US-backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” militia since 2019.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Sweida journalists gathered outside the doors of the headquarters of southern region Journalists Branch demanding to release al-Ekhbariya reporter who has started a hunger strike on July 18th after  his health conditions became bad due to the bad kidnapping conditions.

The participants in the stand described the continuity of kidnapping the reporter despite the deterioration of his health condition as a “crime against humanity’ that requires the intervention of all parties and international organizations to press the SDF militia to release him immediately.

They affirmed that The kidnapping of al-Saghir comes within the framework of the continuous violations against journalists and a desperate attempt to silence the voice of truth by the American occupation and the West.
