German parliamentarian: Economic war with Russia will be devastating for our country

Berlin (ST): German parliament member Sarah Wagenknecht warned that an economic war with Russia would be devastating for Germany, which cannot live without Russian fuel.

Wagenknecht said in a statement to the German news agency  that “Russian raw materials and above all relatively cheap energy resources are the necessary conditions for the existence of a German industry capable of competition, and we cannot do without it,” adding that the current economic war is destroying Germany while not causing damage. Almost no damage to Russia and does not stop the war in Ukraine.

Wagenknecht referred to the need to conduct negotiations and reach compromise solutions to the situation in Ukraine, stressing that the latter cannot defeat Russia militarily.
