President Al-Assad issues decree No.12

DAMASCUS, Jul.21, (ST)-President Bashar al-Assad issued on Thursday a Legislative Decree No. 12 for tge year 2022 extending the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 14 of 2020 until the 31st of July 2023.

The decree extends the exemption on pharmaceutical and medicinal production requirements and raw materials from customs’ tariffs and taxes.
The aim of the decree is to support the pharmaceutical sector in view of the necessities resulting from the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria and the increase in the costs of transferring the value of imports of raw materials entering the pharmaceutical industry to the owners of local pharmaceutical factories, and the high costs of shipping and insurance several times,
