Russian Parliamentarian: Biden seeks to continue Ukrainian crisis to remain in power

Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin stressed that US President Joe Biden wants the crisis in Ukraine to continue because it serves his electoral interests and ensures his stay in power.

“Ukraine plays an important role in the US elections, after three and a half months there will be the midterm elections for Congress, and it is very important that Biden retains the majority of his supporters in it, otherwise he may be impeached, so he needs to continue hostilities in Ukraine in order to retain power, he has no other choice,” RIA Novosti news agency quoted Volodin as saying.

Volodin added: “When Biden was vice president under Barack Obama, he participated in the political life of Ukraine and was a supporter of the coup in it, and after he became president of the United States, he called for the continuation of the war until the last Ukrainian and did everything to prevent any peace settlement in Donbass.”

Volodin noted that Biden is plunging the whole world into armed conflict and economic crisis in order to cling to his power, pointing out that inflation in the United States is breaking records over the past forty years, and price growth in the European Union has become the highest in history.
