SDF militia kidnapped a number of young men in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor

On July 20th, the US-backed SDF militia carried out a campaign of raids in the area of Hawi Al-Jarthi in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor and kidnapped dozens of young men to force them to join it and fight in its ranks.

Local sources said that five SDF military vehicles raided the residential neighborhoods in Hawi Al-Jarthi area in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and kidnapped a number of young men and took them to an unknown destination, likely to be training camps to be forcibly recruited into the militia ranks.

The sources indicated that, during the raids, the SDF militiamen searched houses, broke doors, stole some of their contents, and fired indiscriminate bullets with the intent of intimidating the residents.
