Sabbagh, Fernandez review cooperation in parliamentary field

DAMASCUS, Jul.20, (ST)- Speaker of the People’s Assembly [Parliament] Hammouda Sabbagh discussed with the President of the Senate of the Republic of Paraguay, Oscar Ruben Fernandez, and the accompanying delegation, the importance of developing and strengthening relations between the two countries, especially in the parliamentary field.

During the discussion, which was held on Wednesday, Sabbagh asserted the need to exchange visits and delegations with the aim of strengthening friendship, coordinating viewpoints and unifying opinions in international meetings.

The Speaker referred to the role of the Syrians ,who migrated centuries ago and occupy major political centers in Paraguay today, and to the exceptional positions that Paraguay is taking towards Syria, unlike other countries in the world.

Fir his part, the Senator Fernandez affirmed his delegation will convey the true image of Syria to their country, government, parliament and people, and to defeat all the lies that the Western media tried to fabricate through its outlets.

He asserted the readiness of the delegation to develop relations between the two countries, especially the economic and commercial ones, as well as cultural and religious tourism, calling on members of the People’s Assembly to visit the Republic of Paraguay during the current year.
