President Al-Assad receives President of the Senate of Paraguay

DAMASCUS, Jul.20, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad received on Wednesday the President of the Senate of the Republic of Paraguay Oscar Ruben Fernandez and the accompanying delegation.

President Al-Assad emphasized that the stable relations between countries are based on the interests of peoples and the strengthening of common ties between them, calling for intensifying communication between economic and commercial activities in Syria and Paraguay to achieve the interests of the two friendly peoples and countries.

He pointed out that the Syrians who immigrated to Latin America centuries ago constitute a social and cultural bridge with this continent, considering that the success of the Syrian communities to integrate into the new societies confirms that the Syrians are among the most open peoples, as well as the openness of the peoples of Latin America who embraced these immigrants without any racism, and they showed at all stages a deep understanding and support for the issues of the Arab region.

For their part, the members of the Paraguayan delegation asserted that their visit to Syria will be the beginning of cooperation with their country, especially in the economic and trade fields, and they praised the efforts made by the Syrian state and the people to rebuild what was destroyed by terrorism.

The delegation members indicated that what they saw on the ground during their visit to many Syrian areas is completely different from the image that is being circulated by the media outlets.
