More than 700 thousand tourists visited Syria since the beginning of the year so far

The number of Arab and foreign tourists who visited Syria since the beginning of this year so far has reached 727 thousand, according to engineer Ahed Al-Za’eem, director of planning and international cooperation at the ministry of tourism.

Al-Za’eem indicated that the number of tourists was distributed between 98,000 foreign arrivals and 629 thousand Arab visitors. Al-Za’eem pointed out that the government decision issued by the Ministry of Interior last March to reopen the border crossings after an almost complete closure in 2021 due to the spread of the Corona epidemic contributed to an increase in the number of tourists who visited Syria.
