Ways discussed to activate tourism cooperation between Syria and Paraguay

The Minister of Tourism, Eng. Mohamed Rami Martini, has discussed today with the President of the Senate of the Republic of Paraguay Oscar Robin Solomon Fernandez and the accompanying delegation, ways to activate the joint cooperation between the two countries.
During a meeting with the delegation at the ministry’s headquarters, the minister of tourism indicated the need to develop tourism relations between the two countries, especially with the presence of many Syrians residing in Paraguay, calling for a visit to Syria to learn about its history and civilization, pointing at the same time to the need to conduct events related to tourism, culture and Syrian heritage in Paraguay.
The minister of tourism explained the importance of signing a cooperation program between the two countries regarding the development of tourism relations, stressing the ministry’s readiness to provide Syrian embassies in South American countries with information, brochures and films in Spanish to introduce the world to Syrian civilization and heritage.
The head of the Paraguayan delegation, Fernandez, pointed to the importance of the visit to activate and develop joint tourism cooperation, especially with the desire of a wide segment of the people in Paraguay to visit Syria and get acquainted with it and see the places of religious tourism in it.
In turn, Senator and Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Representatives in Paraguay Juan Afra Miguel said, “What we receive about Syria through the media is completely different from what we have seen the ground during our present tour in it,” pointing out that Syria has many important archaeological sites, which encourages tourism there.
