Iranian FM: America seeks to create tension and crises in the region

On July 17th, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani denounced the allegations and accusations made by US President Joe Biden during his tour in the region.

Kanaani stressed that these baseless allegations come in the context of “the continuation of the American policy to create strife and sow tension in the region.”

Kanaani said in a statement that America is resorting once again to its failed policy of intimidation against Iran to create tension and crises in the region.

Kanaani recalled America’s past as the first country to use the nuclear bomb and its continued interference in the internal affairs of countries in the region, its occupation, military aggression, wholesale arms sales and the promotion of militarism in the region.

Kanaani reiterated that Iran’s strategic policy is based on benefiting from peaceful nuclear energy within the framework of international laws and decisions, and a commitment to continue negotiations in order to lift the embargo.

Kanaani said: “The false American accusations against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program and America’s disregard for decades of Zionist deception as a non-state entity.”

Kanaani stressed the principled and constructive policies of Iran and its welcome to dialogue with neighboring countries and regional initiatives, expecting the countries of the region to respond to Iranian calls for dialogue and regional cooperation and take constructive steps to establish collective security, peace, stability and common development.
