Holding the bodies of the Palestinian martyrs by Israeli occupation is a war crime: Prisoners’ Club

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club has stressed that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to hold the bodies of the Palestinian martyrs and this amounts to a war crime and constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and conventions.

In a statement reported by WAFA News Agency on Saturday, the Prisoners Club said that this Israeli behavior comes within the framework of the occupation’s aggressive policy towards the Palestinian people. It called on the international community and concerned UN bodies to pressure the occupation to hand over the martyrs’ bodies to their families.

The club pointed out that the occupation has been holding the body of the martyr Nassar Taqtaqa, who was martyred due to torture and deliberate medical negligence at the Israeli jails in 2019, for three consecutive years.

The club explained that the policy of medical negligence inside the occupation’s jails is one of the crimes and violations committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians as it deprives them from necessary healthcare.

It warned that the lives of many sick prisoners in the Israeli jails are at risk due to the occupation’s continuous crimes.
