Russian Foreign Ministry: The confrontational approach with Russia weakens European security

Moscow (ST): Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko considered that the European Union’s approach to confrontation with Russia weakens its security and the security of its neighboring countries and creates new lines of division in it.

Rudenko told reporters today in Moscow, “Through the confrontational approach and the desire to force other countries to go in line with the policy of illegal sanctions pursued by the European Union, the European Union incites the creation of new lines of division in Europe, which weakens not only its security but also the security of those countries adjacent to it.”

In response to a question about the extent of the potential threat to Russia’s interests in the event of Ukraine and Moldova joining the European Union, Rudenko pointed out that “this union, which was created with the aim of preventing wars in Europe, has very little left from an economic and rational point of view and is now dominated by politics and ideology.”
