Moscow: The West continues to politicize the humanitarian aid file to Syria

Moscow (ST): The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the West wants to continue politicizing the humanitarian aid file to Syria and obstructs any efforts that do not comply with its plans.

Commenting on the UN Security Council’s decision last Tuesday to extend the mechanism for the delivery of humanitarian aid across the border to Syria, the ministry said in a statement published today on its website, according to Russia Today’s website, that “the UN resolution reaffirms the urgent need to expand the “internal” access from Damascus to all parts of the country and intensify projects for the rapid reconstruction of civilian infrastructure and the easing of unilateral sanctions against Syria.”

The statement pointed out that the latest decision was based on the Russian project, which representatives of the “US, Britain and France” blocked its adoption a few days ago in continuing to politicize the purely humanitarian issues of providing comprehensive assistance to the Syrians.”
