Water Resources Ministry honors workers at Tal Hasel pumping station in Aleppo

ALEPPO, Jul.14, (ST)- Commissioned by President Bashar Al-Assad, the Ministry of Water Resources honored on Thursday engineers, technicians and workers at the Tal Hasel pumping station and rewarded them for the extraordinary efforts they exerted to rehabilitate the station.

Rabie Al-Ali, the Director of the General Organization for Land Reclamation, said in a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the station’s workers showed their gratitude for this honor, which increases their determination to go ahead with their work in the station.

It is noteworthy that the station secures the pumping of 4 cubic meters per second from Tel Hasel, in the east of Aleppo, to Al-Shalali facility in the Handarat area on the Queiq River, north of Aleppo, with a length of 18 km.

The station also provides water to the industrial city of Sheikh Najjar with an amount of 1 m3 per second, thus contributing to improving the environmental situation in the Queiq River in the city of Aleppo and irrigating an area of 8,500 hectares of agricultural land south of Aleppo, especially during summer.
