Armenia’s premier receives Syria’s ambassador in Yerevan

Today, the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to Armenia,  Nora Arissian.

The premier congratulated Arissian on her appointment as Syria’s Ambassador to Armenia and wished her success in her work to contribute to developing relations between the two countries.

“Armenia attaches great importance to cooperation with Syria and the historical ties between the two countries… We are following up the developments in Syria and we hope that friendly Syria will overcome crisis as soon as possible,” Pashinyan said.

He also talked about the Armenian humanitarian mission, which was sent to Syria in 2019 with the aim of clearing mines for humanitarian purposes, raising mine awareness, and providing medical services to the population.

For her part, Arissian said that she is proud of her appointment as Syria’s ambassador to Armenia, and showed gratitude to the Armenian government for its supportive stances, noting that it will make every effort to consolidate bilateral relations.

The premier and the ambassador in addition spoke during the meeting about the prospects of bilateral cooperation.
