Value of sales in the United Commercial and Industrial Company hit SYP.7 billion during the first half of 2022

During the first half of 2022, The value of sales in the United Commercial and Industrial Company (Khomaseyta) hit about 7 billion Syrian pounds (SYP).

The Director-General of the company Mustafa Hilal, told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the rehabilitation and operation of many machines and looms that were out of work during the previous years contributed to a significant doubling of the production capacity.

He clarified that the value of sales from the beginning of the year until the 30th of last June reached about SYP.7 billions, compared to SYP 3 billion during the same period in 2021.

Hilal added that  during the first half of this year, the company produced 1,315 meters of raw fabric and 1,093 meters in the laundry section, while the produced quantity of medical bandages (bandages and medical tissues) reached 10241 pieces, 156 tons of zoe, 989 thousand meters of shortened fabrics and 104 thousand meters of dyed fabrics.

Regarding the company’s investment plan for this year, Hilal stated that it includes the rehabilitation and operation of the first station to adapt the first hall of the textile department, indicating that the contract was ratified by the Ministry of Industry to take this step.

Hilal also pointed out that there are a number of obstacles,mainly the difficulty of securing spare parts for machines and raw materials due to the unjust economic blockade and the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria, as well as the shortage of manpower, especially maintenance workers and specialized technicians.
