Russian security arrests 11 ISIS terrorists in the Northwest Caucasus

Moscow (ST): The media center of the Russian Federal Security Service announced the arrest of 11 members of the terrorist organization “ISIS” and the confiscation of an arsenal of firearms and hand grenades from their possession in the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia in the northwest Caucasus.

The RIA Novosti news agency quoted the commission as saying today that “11 people were arrested on the territory of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, who are members of a secret cell affiliated with the banned terrorist organization ISIS, after their involvement in the recruitment of some residents of the region with terrorist activities and the Internet was revealed.”

The commission indicated that the terrorists were found in possession of 10 units of civilian weapons, a “Makarov” pistol, an automatic rifle, three hand grenades, a large amount of ammunition and communications equipment containing materials and publications that encourage illegal activities.
