Defense Minister visits army formations in Syria’s eastern region

Under the directives of President Bashar Al-Assad and marking Eid Al-Adha, Defense Minister, General Ali Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday visited one of the Syrian Arab Army formations deployed in Syria’s eastern region. He met with the soldiers and conveyed to them President Bashar Al-Assad’s congratulations and best wishes of good health and success in their national tasks.

Gen. Abbas hailed the soldiers’ high morale, strong will and courage, and their continuous readiness to sacrifice in implementation of their sacred national duty.

He met with the field commanders and was briefed on their combat operations, reiterating the importance of continuous training and readiness at all times and under any circumstances.

Abbas affirmed that what Syria has achieved in the confrontation of terrorism and aggressors is great and that the current coordination and cooperation between the countries that reject subordination to the forces of hegemony and colonialism is nothing but  a continuation of the successes achieved in cooperation with our friends and allies in different battlefields in Syria

On his part, Chief of Staff of the Army and Armed Forces Abdul Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim also visited one of the formations of the Syrian army’s air force where he congratulated the soldiers on Eid Al-Adha.

General Ibrahim was briefed on the training process which included various air shows. He hailed the efforts being exerted in training so as to enhance the defensive abilities of the combatants.
