Several media reports said that the armed forces reached the center of Ma’aloula town while the official news agency (SANA) reported: “the armed forces continued carrying out operations against the armed terrorist groups in Ma’aloula and its surrounding where a ringleader of the so-called ‘al-Farouq’ battalion in Yabroud area was among the dead.”

In fact, there are conflicting reports on the results of the ongoing fighting there.

As for developments on other fronts, official and military sources confirmed that a series of operations were carried out against the armed terrorist groups in eastern Ghouta and in  northern and southern Damascus countryside.

Eight weapons-loaded cars

They added that eight weapons-laden cars were destroyed in towns of Khan al-Joz and Berj al-Hayat outside Lattakia province, noting that several arms caches and rocket launchers were wiped out in northern Aleppo province.

Further weapons-loaded cars were also targeted in operations  against terrorist groupings in Hosh Shamsi and Hosh Abaza in al-Sa’en area outside Homs province.

The sources declared that a host of terrorists died when the armed forces shelled hideout in Saqeyet alKart town in Lattakia countryside and in more than 19 areas in Aleppo province.
