Education Ministry signs two memoranda of understanding with two international organizations to rehabilitate school infrastructure and provide educational supplies

The Ministry of Education signed today two memorandums of understanding, the first with the French humanitarian organization “Triangle” Generation, and the second with the organization of the Civic Volunteers Group.

Under the two memoranda, the two organizations provide support to the Ministry of Education in the areas of rehabilitating school infrastructure, providing educational supplies, psychological support for students, implementing awareness campaigns and supporting the capabilities of educational staff, in addition to cooperation in the field of compensating educational losses and supporting vocational education.

Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, stressed after the signing the importance of strengthening cooperation with international organizations and institutions in this field, which would have a positive impact on the quality of education, programs and activities, especially with regard to the return of dropout students to schools, reviewing the measures taken by the Ministry in preparation for participation in the Education Transformation Summit which will be held in New York next September.
Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry Ghassan Shoghari explained that the areas of cooperation included in the two memoranda support the Ministry’s efforts in facing the challenges imposed by the terrorist war on the education sector, especially in the field of rehabilitating schools damaged by terrorism, indicating that there are more than 8,000 schools out of service in various governorates.
