Harvesting more than 62 thousand hectares of wheat in Daraa

The wheat harvest work in Daraa is nearing completion, and the harvested area has reached 62,100 hectares out of the total harvestable area of 63,235 hectares.

Director of Agriculture, Bassam Al-Hashish, said that the directorate provides farmers with the necessary support, especially in the field of fuel, to ensure the marketing of the governorate’s entire production to grain and seeds centers.

He added that the planned irrigated and rainfed areas of wheat in the current season amounted to 89,257 hectares.

He said that the farmers of Daraa planted 96,149 hectares and most of the rainfed areas have gone out of production for reasons related to the decrease in rainfall at the governorate.

To date, the quantities delivered to the grain and seeds centers in Daraa have exceeded 37,000 tons.
