Syrian national athletics team ranks first in West Asian Championship

The Syrian national athletics team topped the general rankings of the West Asian Championship for males and females, which concluded on Wednesday in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Our team came first in the medals table, winning 9 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals, ahead of Qatar, which came second with 8 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals, while Iraq came third with 7 gold, 12 silver and 6 bronze medals.

The tournament was launched two days ago with the participation of Syria and eight teams.
