Lamamra: Syria will hopefully restore its seat in the Arab League

Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra has renewed his country’s call for Syria’s return to the Arab League, stressing that Syria is a founding member of this regional organization.

In a statement on Saturday during the meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers in Beirut, Lamamra said “Algeria will do its utmost to unite the Arabs and strengthen the joint Arab will in the confrontation of common challenges”.

He stressed that Syria is a founding member of the Arab League and Algeria has no problem with its return, expressing hope that an Arab consensus on Syria will be achieved soon.
