Bazaar (Afkar 5) in Homs highlights women's ability to work and produce

A lot of handmade products, food, drawings, various artefacts, as well as plants and popular cuisines exhibited by participants in Bazaar (Afkar 5) in Homs, through which they emphasized women’s ability to work and produce.

In a statement to SANA, Nora Al-Rifai, the bazaar organizer, noted that the bazaar is based on supporting entrepreneurs, promoting their businesses, developing small enterprises and marketing participants’ products from Hama, Tartus, Latakia and Homs governorates, pointing out that most of the beneficiaries are online marketers.

Malak Louis indicated that her participation in the bazaar is within a section for hand-made food products (jammies, pickles, etc.) She explained that it was an opportunity for her to introduce and marketing her products, while Reem Dagestani pointed out that her participation was through a section of handicrafts of her design, stressing that the bazaar embodies Syrian women’s ability to work and produce despite all the circumstances they have experienced.

Shahrazad Al-Satla asserted that her participation came through her elaborate handicrafts of Milan, Sinara and Shack, all of which are heritage works that she seeks to revive.  Susan Nakkedli noted that her participation was through a handmade work section with a collection of antiques made of copper, precious stones and shells.

Participants praised the exquisite atmosphere of the bazaar and the remarkable turnout.
