Aleppo (ST): The exhibition, Memory of Aleppo, included one hundred documentary photos of the artists of the city of Aleppo, organized by the Directorate of Aleppo Culture, in celebration of the International Music Day, to highlight the artistic history of this city, including singers, composers and art giants at the time, in Tishreen Art Gallery.
The photos documented many important artistic occasions, in addition to documenting the visits of some veteran singers to the city of Al-Shahba, including Umm Kulthum, Farid Al-Atrash and others, with the aim of transmitting the artistic heritage to new generations and introducing it to the important artistic history it represents.
Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Culture in Aleppo, stated that the Ministry of Culture and the Directorate of Intangible Heritage always seek to document the artistic stage in the creative history of Aleppo, which includes artistic figures who left an imprint in the history of local and international music, such as Sheikh Bakri Kurdi and Omar Al-Batsh, in addition to a large number of musicians, artists and vocalists such as vocalist Adeeb. Al-Dayikh and the artist Sabri Mudallal, Muhammad Qadri Dalal, Sabah Fakhri and others.
He explained that the exhibition talks about the artistic atmosphere in the middle of the last century and focuses on the personalities who transmitted the heritage of the ancestors, indicating the importance of such exhibitions to introduce generations to the great artistic personalities who had a great Arab and international creative impact.
Ahmed Haffar, the photojournalist who contributed to the preparation of the exhibition, pointed out that it contains important artistic occasions from 1820 to 2000 that passed through our history and remained engraved in our minds to confirm the nobility of the artistic movement in the city of Aleppo.
