With the participation of Syria, the implementation of the work of the eleventh World Urban Forum discussed

Katowice/Poland (ST): With the participation of Syria, the eleventh World Urban Forum in Poland continues its work for the second day, where a meeting was held that included the ministers of the participating countries.

The discussions of the meeting focused on the main strategies available to implement the new global urban agenda, including the national strategy for housing in Syria, and research on legal frameworks and urban and regional planning frameworks that are being developed in the participating countries with the aim of guiding the transformation of cities towards a sustainable future.

During the meeting, regional and sub regional governmental mechanisms (structural and local) were discussed with friendly countries, in addition to supporting investments for the transformation of cities to reach a sustainable urban future.

It is noteworthy that the forum was opened yesterday, and Syria participated in a delegation headed by the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdel Latif, and the Syrian Ambassador to Poland, Radwan Lutfi.
