The new determinants of organizing the labor market and the challenges it faces in a workshop

Damascus (ST): The General Federation of Trade Unions, in coordination with the Labor Observatory for Studies, is holding a workshop on organizing the labor market, the new determinants and challenges it faces, at the General Federation building, with the participation of professors and doctors in economics.

The two-day workshop discussed employment policies in the public sector, labor market challenges, supply and demand characteristics, the impact of financial policies on achieving job opportunities, the reality and requirements of the labor market, the impact of public spending and its role in creating job opportunities, obstacles to human resource systems, the reality of human resources management’s competence in the educational system, and the impact of policies and programs of the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade on the labor market, support and reform of vocational training centers.

The participants in the workshop demanded the necessity of preserving national competencies, linking wages to inflation rates, and supporting the social protection system.
