Tehran (ST): Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi reiterated the necessity of dialogue between the countries of the region without foreign interference, noting that his country and Iraq had decided to expand bilateral relations in the economic and commercial field and to take new steps to facilitate monetary and banking relations between the two countries.

During a press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi in Tehran last night, Raisi stressed, according to Fars Agency, that the relations between the two countries are not ordinary or traditional, but rather deep and cultural, and that the will exists between the officials of the two countries to advance relations.

Raisi said: “Most of the relations between the neighboring countries with Iraq were discussed, and the political and economic relations between the two countries were reviewed, and it was decided to increase the economic relations between the two countries.”

For his part, Al-Kazemi stressed the importance of Iranian-Iraqi relations, noting that it was agreed during the meeting with Raisi on the joint endeavor to enhance security and stability in the region.
