Syria, Bahrain to enhance cooperation in the field of communications

Damascus, (ST) –  The Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Iyad Al-Khatib, discussed with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Syria, Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, means and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the ICT sector.

During the meeting, which was held at the Ministry’s building on Sunday, the two sides discussed matters related to digital transformation, training and exchanging experiences in the various fields of communications.

Minister Al-Khatib affirmed Syria’s support for Bahrain in the elections for membership of the Councilof International Telecommunication Union during the period 2023-2026, which will take place in the Romanian capital Bucharest.

It is noteworthy that the elections for the Council of International Telecommunication Union will be held at the level of plenipotentiaries during the period from 26 September to 14 October.
