Economy Minister: Finding Suitable Alternatives for Export Promotion

DAMASCUS, (ST) – Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Kheder Orfali, has underlined the need to search for suitable alternatives for encouraging export and its promotion in accordance with thoughtful and constructive foundations and achieving  added values to serve our economy whereas exports are the correct and natural gate to acquaint with Syrian products abroad.

During the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Development and Export Promotion, the minister pointed out  to the importance of exerting efforts and cooperation among all sectors in the light of the current situation taking place in Syria for the advancement of our national economy and strengthening both in terms of import or export, stressing that the doors of the ministry is open in front of everyone to solve any problem as soon as possible and overcome everything that hinders work.

He also stressed the need to establish and participate in exhibitions and not to stand handcuffed in this domain because of the difficulties and blockade imposed on us.
For his part, Director of the Board of Directors of the Development and Export Promotion, Ehab Ismandar, gave a presentation of the work of the Board during the previous period and the promotion plan for the next year and adding Syria Moda Exhibition to the plan exhibitions this year and preparing for the opening of a branch of the body in Lattakia and the Dubai Exhibition of Food Industries “Glf Food” in 2014 and the establishment of a joint bank between Syria and Iran.
