DAMASCUS, Jun.16, (ST)-A cooperation agreement in the field of media was signed on Thursday by the Ministry of Information and the Media Committee of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
The Minister of Information, Boutros Hallaq, stressed the importance of enhancing media cooperation between the two friendly countries through implementing the agreement,.
He praised the stances of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea related to supporting Syria in the war on terrorism, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
For his part , Chargé d’ affaires of DPRK Embassy in Damascus, Kim Hey Ryong, hoped that the agreement would be a turning point to develop bilateral relations between the two countries, stressing his country’s stance against the US criminal acts in Syria.
The agreement provides for cooperation between various institutions and media outlets in the field of news services, radio and television broadcasting, internet, IT and communications, in addition to cooperation in international media meetings, including the Ministerial of the Non-Aligned Movement countries.
It also includes the exchange of news, various media materials, publications and audio-visual materials related to political, economic, social and cultural aspects in the two countries, besides the exchange of visits by the officials of media institutions.
A joint committee will be formed to follow up on the implementation of the agreement.
