Susan: The aggressive behavior of the Turkish regime against Syria constitutes a violation of international law
Nur-Sultan, (ST) – The delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic, headed by Dr. Ayman Susan, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, held a session of talks this morning with the Iranian delegation headed by Ali Asghar Khaji, Senior Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, on the second day of the 18th international meeting on Syria in the Astana format.
During the meeting, they reviewed the developments of the situation in Syria and the items on the agenda of the international meeting, especially the threats launched by the Turkish regime of aggression on Syrian territories.
In this regard, Dr. Susan reiterated Syria’s strong condemnation of the aggressive behavior of the Turkish regime and refuting the excuses it makes for aggression against Syria, which constitutes a violation of international law and absolutely contradicts the understandings and outputs of Astana, which the Turkish regime has always denied and failed to adhere to.
For his part, Asghar Khaji affirmed Iran’s rejection of any Turkish aggression against Syria and its keenness on the territorial integrity and unity of Syria. He stressed that such actions and threats only lead to an escalation of the situation in the region and must be put to an end.
Asghar Khaji pointed out that the views were identical on the importance of intensifying consultations and communication between the two countries in the current circumstances.
