PLO: Occupation’s settlement plan around the walls of Jerusalem aims to obliterate the city’s identity

The Palestine Liberation Organization “PLO” warned of the danger of the Israeli occupation’s settlement scheme around the walls of occupied Jerusalem, pointing out that its aim is to impose a siege on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Holy City in an attempt to obliterate the Palestinian, Arab, Islamic, and Christian identity of Jerusalem, leading to its Judaization.

The head of the Jerusalem department in the organization, Adnan Al-Husseini, said in a statement today, carried by Wafa Agency, that the occupation announced a settlement plan that includes the seizure of areas of land in the eastern corner of the Old City wall, which is an integral part of the Yusufian cemetery, pointing out that the aim is to impose the siege on the blessed Al-Aqsa and the Holy City, tightening control over the largest possible area, and obliterating the Palestinian, Arab, Islamic, and Christian identity of Jerusalem, in order to reach the desired goal of Judaizing the city.

The Israeli aggression against the city of Jerusalem and its sanctities has become a threat to its Arab and Islamic identity, which calls for the United Nations and the international community to assume their legal, humanitarian and moral responsibilities to take effective measures in order to curb the Israeli occupation.
