The Minister of local administration discusses with INTERSOS the possibility of implementing joint projects

On June 12thMinister of Local Administration and Environment and Chairman of the Higher Relief Committee Engineer Hussein Makhlouf met with INTERSOS (NGO humanitarian organization )Director-General Mosho Koretz and the accompanying delegation

The two sides discussed the possibility of cooperation to implement joint projects that meet the needs of the population in the neediestareas. 

Minister Makhlouf explained that work is currently focused on encouraging the return of the internally and externally displaced persons to their homes and creating the appropriate conditions and environment for their stability by rebuilding homes and infrastructure

Minister Makhlouf expressed his hope for more cooperation with the organization to meet the increasing needs of the population in light of their continuing suffering as a result of unilateral coercive measures and the theft of agricultural crops and the underground wealth of the Syrian people by the American and Turkish occupations. 

For his part, the Director-General of INTERSOS expressed his desire to expand the organization’s work through partnerships with actors, including the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment.
He reviewed the organization’s work in Syria, which is implemented in coordination with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent in the sectors of health, education, psychological support, humanitarian aid and improving ways of living. 

The meeting was attended by the organization’s regional director for the Middle East, Martin Rosslow, and the head of the organization’s mission in Syria, Peter Caporso, and from the Syrian side, the deputy minister and director of planning and international cooperation in the ministry.
