Abdollahian to Al-Mikdad: Resistance alliance will always support Syria

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal Al-Mikdad on Friday received a phone call from his Iranian counterpart Hussein Amir Abdollahian during which the Iranian top diplomat stressed his country’s condemnation of the cowardly Israeli missile attack which was carried out at dawn yesterday targeting some points in the southern part of Damascus.

Abdollahian reaffirmed Iran’s support for Syria in the confrontation of the Israeli repeated attacks which are backed by foreign parties aiming at undermining Syria’s steadfastness and impeding its war on terrorism.

The Iranian minister highly appreciated the tireless efforts being exerted by Syria to maintain its sovereignty and fight terrorism in country and the entire region, hailing Syria’s successes in confronting the illegal foreign intervention in the country’s internal affairs.

He reiterated that resistance alliance will always support Syria in practicing its right to defend its sovereignty and liberate its lands from occupation forces.

On his part, Al-Mikdad thanked Iran for supporting Syria.

He stressed that the latest Israeli aggression comes within the framework of the support being provided by Israel to terrorist groups in Syria, the illegal and aggressive practices of the American occupation forces in the northeast of Syria and the Turkish occupation’s threats of launching attacks on the Syrian territories and its support for the terrorist groups in the northwest of the country.

Al-Mikdad reiterated that Syria will use all legitimate means to defend its right to retaliate against the Israeli attacks and fight terrorism in order to liberate the country from all the terrorists and the illegal foreign forces supporting them.
