Nebenzia: The supply of Western heavy weapons to Ukraine is a clear escalation

Moscow (ST): Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, warned that the West’s provision of heavy weapons to the Ukrainian regime represents a clear escalation.

In an interview with the BBC, which was aired last night, the Russian delegate denied the validity of “assumptions” that the Russian operation in Ukraine is faltering, saying that “one of the reasons for the so-called slow progress of the operation is that we do not strike at civilian infrastructure.”

He added that the operation “is developing according to the previously defined plan and of course, there are some tactical changes because it is impossible to predict what will happen on the front lines,  but we are moving forward according to the plan.”

Nebenzia expected the liberation of the entire Donetsk and Lugansk provinces, adding: “I hope that this will happen soon,” noting that the plan of the military operation announced earlier is to ensure “the neutrality of Ukraine, its de-Nazification and its disarmament,” stressing that “the liberation of Donbas was the first task.”
